How can we as Christians in an age where evil is called good and good called evil live as God wants.
We have to really search our hearts and search the scriptures to know for ourselves what the word says. I know that we are in a post-Christian world
We are to be politically correct about everything. That means even the Bible.
I do believe that God wants us to be different. We have to band together as the true believers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as it is portrayed in the bible. We need to have the mind that God will not ever give us more than we can handle. Sometimes we think that we have had too much but we always have to come back to
1. God is Sovereign.
2. God is Love.
3. God never dropped his people.
4. He will complete that work he started in us.
So with this we can be assured that no matter what circumstances come our way He is there and He (Jesus) is in control. He will teach us through it all.
The fear that I have is that we as Christians are buying into this way of thinking that is not biblical at all. We are to be SALT & LIGHT to a dark and dead world meaning (Spiritually dead) many of us have never left this country to see how other brothers and sisters in Christ worship Him. We here in the USA think we have the corner on truth. WE DON'T! Take a moment and go find a book on Martyrs for Christ and see just where your faith comes from. The best story that I know of is
Jim Elliot (Through Gates of Splendor)
OR
The Journals of Jim Elliot
we as the American church have been dumbed down and we say that we are not interested in Doctrine or Theology. But these things should be our concern because without these we would have no teaching. We need to be-able to defend our faith (What we believe).
Doctrine: A principle or position the body of principles in a branch of knowledge or system of belief (Ideology, Gospel)
Theology: The study of religious faith, practice, and experience. The study of God & God's relation to the world. (Webster’s Dic)
When we read the bible everyone leaves with a doctrine and theology. The scriptures say that the bible is not of private interpretation. This means that it is safe to read what other people that have dedicated there lives to understanding what the bible says.
If we are so arrogant to think that we have it all down that is or should be a scary place to be. We should always check our thoughts with what other men or women have written and even those in our churches that we trust to lead us are going in the right direction.
We may not be-able to come to the word and allow it to change us and we need the help of a third party to help us put our thoughts in the right place. This is why God made the Church so that we would have other to help us through this crazy life.
