Well like I said it was a miracle for us. We decided about 4 months before their wedding that we were both ready to get married! We have now been together for just over ten years and are very excited about the upcoming wedding next summer. Were the miracle came from is that our friends had to go through a marriage class as part of the agreement for the pastor to marry them. We then met the pastor at the wedding and he was really down to earth and we seemed to connect to him.
Well we did not talk to our friends about our decision to get married until after their wedding so we did not take anything away from their special moment. Afterwards we started talking to them about it and told them that we were thinking on having a justice of the peace marry us. They recommended there pastor but we did not like the idea of marriage classes. After all we have been together for ten years, why do we need those?
They talked to us and said that it was actually very interesting and helpful to them. So we thought, now is the time to start looking for a church to call home again. So we went to a couple churches and liked what they had to say but there was something lacking. We then asked our friends if they minded if we went and checked out there church, they didn’t care so we went.
Wow!! This is it! We finally felt at home again. Everyone was so friendly and caring. Now I must admit that the only person we have told that we are not married to is our pastor, but it would be hard to ask him to marry us if he thought we were already married. He did not seem to mind a bit. He said we would have to attend some classes before he would marry us and we said that was fine. Now that we are into it, the only difficulty that we have is our pastor’s schedule. He is so busy that he has to postpone the rest of our classes. He was actually just in here to cancel tonight’s class in person. I can’t help but laugh! It is not a big deal because we only have two or three sessions left and we still have seven months until our wedding bet we actually get excited and look forward to going.
The other thing we have noticed is that we both look forward to going to church on Sundays. After that we actually count down the days until we get to go again. We feel more alive and are even happy to get out of bed in the morning! This has defiantly made a big change in our lives. It has also opened up a door in my life that I am trying to go through and see what is on the other side.
I started to ask myself why I was on this earth. Why had God saved my life so many different times? Why has God put me through the trials and tribulations that he has? It basically came down to one question, what is my purpose in God’s plan? I then started asking if what I heard in my head when I prayed was God or some form of my own consciousness?
That then brought me to where I am at now, I like to look at it as the crossroads of my life. I need to find out if I am doing everything possible to fulfill God’s plan for me. I am currently doing a spiritual journey book with my pastor. This will go for forty days. This is what actually brought me to making this website/blog. I felt a strong urge to share my story with as many people as I could and I figured what better way than by the internet.
I will probably start righting things down as a post entry instead of pages for the most part. I will make full pages as well if the situation arises. I hope all of this makes sense to people who are reading this and I hope that this will enter into someone’s heart and help them find God. That is my only goal for this. If it turns into more that would just be an added bonus, and another way for me to help serve my Lord and Master, Jesus Christ. God bless you all and thank you for sharing in with my journey!
