It almost sounds like a line for a b - grade movie but that statement is true! The devil relies on the people who do not follow God to use Peer Pressure to persuade believers into drifting away from God. Peer pressure is by far one of the devils favorite tools, I believe. After starting up www.choosedestiny.com i relise that it can be hard not to fall into the peer pressure of the world by ignoring my calling to make this site.

I know when I grew up it was hard for me not to fall for Peer Pressure and do what I really didn't want to do. One of the best examples of this is smoking. I hated cigarettes and smoking when I was young. I used to tell my parents, you need to stop smoking, just though your cigarettes away and don't get anymore. I also said I would never smoke!

Well I thought I never would. I was in eighth grade. I had just moved to a new state and started going to middle school. I found out the hard way that most people who come up to you and want to be your best friend right away, turn out to be the ones you should avoid. That is how it was for my situation. Peer pressure was a word I was not that familiar with until then. Then every direction I turned was nothing but peer pressure.

My new friends all smoked. This was odd to me because I didn't know anyone who smoked in my old town, except adults. They tried to pressure me into smoking with them but I would say no and just sit there watching and talking with them. I did could not giving into the pressure form peers for about six months.

Then one day I decided I wanted to try it because they were doing it. That was wrong. It has taken me 18 years but I am finally quitting smoking. That peer pressure got to me and held on for that long. It has been a week now that I have not smoked and I'm very happy. God has helped me out a lot with the pressures of stopping.

My pastor gave me a great idea, when I think about smoking use it as a reminder to spend time with God in prayer. With God, all things are possible. If I could have just focused on God when I was young instead of falling for peer pressure I would have saved a lot of money and kept my body healthy. Now I just need to use the experience as away to help anyone else that needs it.
